Brooke Anderson is a growth-minded leader and advocate. She has spent the past three and a half years educating the Tri-county communities (particularly Dorchester and Berkeley) to support vulnerable children and families. Starting as a Clinical Outreach Coordinator at Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center in 2021, Brooke became the Director of Prevention and Outreach in 2023. In her role there, she has expanded child abuse prevention efforts throughout public and private schools, non-profits, county governments, EMS personnel, and extensively throughout the faith community. Brooke has taught key leaders to embrace the importance of protecting children and works extensively with these organizations to develop policies, train staff, and utilize trauma-informed practices. Although it is ultimately up to adults to protect children, Brooke has valued children’s voices in this matter and has trained hundreds of children to recognize the signs of abuse early on and know what to do about it. Brooke has led the way in hosting an Annual Faith Leader’s Breakfast, gathering over 65 faith leaders around the Low country, for three consecutive years to learn about protecting children. She received state recognition for her successful work in 2023 at SC Victim Rights Week by the SC Victim Assistance Network. She was awarded the Compassion 4 Faithful Service Award for her engagement with Faith Leaders in her community by providing support on awareness, prevention, and collaborative responses to child abuse and creating communities in which children and families live free from abuse.
